- Prof. Akram obtained his BSc.Eng. in 1991 and his M.Sc. degree in 1998,
University of Alexandria, Egypt. He received his PhD degree in 2004
from the School of Civil Engineering, University of Nottingham, UK, - He was the dean of Port Training Institute from October 2008 to Feb
2022 and he is a member of the Peer Reviewer Committee of the Journal
of Marine Policy (JMP), and the International Associations of Maritime
Universities Conferences (IAMU). Furthermore, Prof. Akram was the
supervisor over a lot of Ph.D and Master students during the past years. - He is the Head of the organizing /committee of the International
Maritime Transport and Logistics Conference “MARLOG”. - He Published more than 40 research papers in proceedings and journals
in the field of Coastal Engineering, Marine Structures and Breakwaters,
his research interests also include Water Resources, Coastal Zone
Management and Sustainable Development
